Garden design

Studio Green was born from the passion and curiosity of its founder, Maurizio Ghidoni. His desire to create new environments that stand out in terms of practicality, elegance, and natural beauty has driven his continuous professional growth.

Maurizio Ghidoni’s professional journey began in high school, where he specialized in agriculture through a constant combination of theory and practice. After earning his diploma as an agricultural expert, he was highly motivated to refine his botanical and design knowledge. His training at the School of Agriculture in Monza Park led him to obtain a Diploma in Park and Garden Installation and Maintenance.

With over 20 years of experience, the professionalism, creativity, and attention to detail that have always distinguished his work make every Studio Green creation unique.

Step 1: Initial Meeting

Our work always begins with an introductory meeting with the client to gather detailed information about their needs and the essential elements for the design process.

Step 2: Thorough Site Inspection

We then conduct a site inspection, collecting technical data and taking photographs for an in-depth analysis of the area. We evaluate the architectural context, elevation levels, exposure, soil type, the position of existing systems, and any potential challenges.

Step 3: Preliminary Design

After the inspection, we develop a preliminary study that precisely defines the areas of intervention. This includes the division of green spaces according to their function and the home’s exposure to the outdoors and sunlight, as well as the design of pathways and other planned areas. We also select vegetation, materials, accessories, and lighting solutions. Everything is presented through 2D plans and explanatory photographs, along with an initial cost estimate.

Step 4: Review and Detailed Estimate

Once the project’s characteristics and client requirements are clearly defined, we move on to the review phase and the preparation of a detailed cost estimate.

Step 5: Final Project

After implementing any final modifications requested by the client, we proceed with the final project, leading to the actual garden construction phase.

Absolutely not. We design all types of outdoor spaces, regardless of size. In fact, we have created many terraces, courtyards, and even balconies.

The size of your green space is not a limiting factor in achieving a beautiful garden. In fact, smaller spaces can often be even more refined in every detail. By conducting a site inspection and taking digital photos, we can then proceed with graphic planning and select the most suitable elements to enhance your home, such as plants, furnishings, flooring, and lighting.

Of course! Plants are actually the essential component of our projects—we carefully select them to ensure they fit the location, space, and overall garden style.

Designing a garden requires a thorough study of the surrounding environment. Climate plays a crucial role, as it directly affects plant growth. Heat, cold, sun exposure, shade, humidity, and rainfall are all climatic factors that influence plant selection. Additionally, soil composition and water availability are essential considerations. We also take into account the surrounding vegetation—a skilled designer should incorporate native plants into your garden while also introducing ornamental species.

Perennial low-maintenance plants

Perennial herbaceous plants offer an incredibly diverse range of options. Studio Green makes extensive use of these species for garden and park decoration, as they complement both natural gardens and synthetic grass landscapes while requiring minimal maintenance.

Mediterranean plants

A Mediterranean garden evokes the charm of coastal regions in Italy, southern France, and Spain. By combining shrubs, bushes, and tall trees, Studio Green designs green spaces filled with the fragrance of aromatic herbs, shaded areas, and vibrant blooms. Olive trees, oleanders, heathers, and lavenders create a garden that withstands summer heat and drought while requiring minimal seasonal upkeep.

No, we have always been involved in the design and creation of natural gardens, of all types and sizes.

We take care of everything that may be necessary in a garden to make it truly livable for those who will use it. If needed, over the years, we have built a network of craftsmen and companies specialized in outdoor services with whom we collaborate to bring our projects to life. We are, of course, also available to work with professionals suggested by the client, when requested.

Maintenance, pruning, and other interventions

Studio Green always ensures the best maintenance for your garden through its expert gardeners or the professional intervention of trusted partners.

Certainly. It is essential that tree pruning is carried out by qualified personnel using appropriate machinery to ensure that the plant grows healthily and uniformly. Equally important is safeguarding the safety of individuals, as these tall trees are often located near homes, public buildings, or in public or condominium gardens. We also use aerial platforms if it is necessary to work on large and tall trees.

Naturally, before intervening on the tree, a thorough preliminary analysis will be conducted to assess the feasibility of the operation. This will ensure the proper execution of the task and the safety of the operators.

Here is the seasonal calendar for interventions:

Lawn mowing: spring – summer

Fertilization: spring – summer – autumn – winter

Weeding: spring – summer

Pruning and tree felling: autumn – winter

Regeneration: spring – autumn

Synthetic turf coloring: spring – summer – autumn – winter

Insecticides and fungicides: spring – summer – autumn – winter

Seasonal planting: spring – summer – autumn – winter

Synthetic grass

Studio Green was born from the experience and expertise developed over nearly 20 years of activity. Our company was one of the first in Italy to supply and install decorative synthetic turf and has always been a leader in the sector. We have completed thousands of gardens and are able to install up to 30,000 square meters of decorative synthetic grass per season, even handling large surfaces while maintaining competitive costs.

We have always carefully selected our materials, which are produced exclusively for our company. Additionally, we directly manage the development, selection, and manufacturing of fibers and primary supports to guarantee:

  • Excellent material quality.
  • Optimal fiber structure: We use both soft and rigid fibers to best meet our customers’ needs. Depending on the softness of the fiber, the grass is denser or less dense, ensuring excellent resilience and long-lasting durability.
  • High-performance fiber shapes: We offer “S” shaped fibers, “V” shaped fibers with a central rib, “W” shaped fibers, diamond-shaped fibers, small wave and large wave fibers, all with memory foam effect to enhance resilience. The fiber recovers its original appearance quickly after being walked on.
  • High-performance backing: We are among the few companies that use products with a completely POLYURETHANE coating, which means:
    • Longer durability.
    • Greater fire resistance compared to products with latex backing.
    • More environmentally friendly, as it is fully recyclable.
    • It does not absorb liquids, including pet urine.
    • No shrinking or expansion due to temperature fluctuations. Products with this backing even withstand installation in low temperatures.
    • Completely non-toxic and hypoallergenic.

Our turf is guaranteed and compliant with all EU directives. It is also perfectly suitable for use by children and pets because it is made from non-toxic, hypoallergenic, and antistatic materials. We offer various heights, ranging from 20mm to 55mm, and different stitch pitches, 3/8′ or 5/8′, allowing for a denser or less dense grass effect, making our synthetic turf even more realistic

If you’re still wondering whether artificial grass is the right choice for you, here’s a quick summary of the advantages of our synthetic grass:

  • Instant effect
  • Ready for use on terraces, gardens, and indoor spaces
  • Minimal maintenance: just one or two brushings per year
  • Water-saving because it doesn’t need irrigation, thus also saving you money
  • Perfectly suitable for pets
  • Non-toxic, hypoallergenic, and anti-static, making it ideal for homes with children and pets
  • Fire-resistant, Class 1 according to European standards (only with sand infill)
  • Resistant to foot traffic, weather conditions, humidity, and extreme temperatures
  • Highly draining
  • Durable and UV-resistant
  • Easy to clean with water

It is a material that offers some undeniable advantages:

  • greater durability over time;
  • superior fire resistance compared to products with a latex backing;
  • more environmentally friendly because it is fully recyclable;
  • perfect for pet owners as it is impermeable to their urine;
  • no shrinkage or expansion due to temperature changes, and it can be installed at low temperatures;
  • completely non-toxic and hypoallergenic.

Natural grass has the undeniable quality of being made of real grass, with a natural color and pleasant to the touch. The problem is that, to maintain these characteristics over time, natural grass requires careful and constant maintenance, with the related time and costs involved.

Synthetic grass, on the other hand, requires very little maintenance and offers a number of significant advantages:

  • it maintains its color unchanged in any weather conditions;
  • thanks to new production technologies, it has a particularly realistic appearance, both visually and to the touch;
  • it can be easily and regularly cleaned and sanitized;
  • it does not absorb water and is not subject to mud and hole formation, nor to insect proliferation, making it perfect for safe use by children and pets;
  • it has very low maintenance costs, as it does not need mowing or watering.

Every season is perfect for laying your synthetic grass, even winter! In fact, during the colder months, we only use products with a polyurethane backing because they are resistant to low temperatures.

Yes, synthetic grass is draining because it has holes in the backing, allowing water to flow freely. Our synthetic turf is designed to allow rainwater to filter and flow without causing pooling or mud. In contrast, in a natural lawn, when it rains, the water can penetrate the soil and filter into the underground.

The cost of synthetic grass depends on a few key factors:

  • Area of the surface to cover
  • Type of product chosen
  • Possible difficulty of access to the garden

Certainly yes. In fact, synthetic grass does not use harmful pesticides and, since it does not need to be watered daily, it helps reduce the water requirements of a natural lawn.

It depends on your usage needs. The height is measured in millimeters and varies according to the purpose. If you are choosing synthetic grass for your home garden, the choice depends on your personal taste.

Are you using artificial grass as a backdrop for outdoor tables at your business? Then it will be important to opt for an easy-to-clean solution with a shorter height. Will the turf be installed in a public place, such as a schoolyard or playground? In this case, we recommend considering not only the measurements but also the durability: a thicker and more resilient product would be better.

It must be stated that there is no standard lifespan for synthetic grass. Its durability over time depends mainly on three key factors:

  • the quality of the materials used in the production of the synthetic turf;
  • the accuracy of the installation, which must consider a series of variables that can affect the lifespan of the turf, such as the slope and the correct treatment of the substrate;
  • the intensity of use, which is also related to the presence or absence of pets and children.

No, synthetic grass does not need to be watered. This is a significant advantage as it eliminates the costs of irrigation and periodic mowing.

No, our synthetic grass is almost identical to natural grass. The color and softness of the fibers make it indistinguishable from real grass.

Absolutely not. We guarantee a strong and invisible seam.

It is a crucial process. We handle the supply, installation, and anchoring of non-woven fabric (TNT), which prevents the growth of weeds and the possible rise of earthworms from the soil.

The warranty on our products ranges from 6 (six) to 12 (twelve) years, depending on the model, and also covers damage from UV rays.

Your new synthetic grass could benefit from a tax deduction of up to 50%.

Synthetic grass maintenance

Here are our tips for proper maintenance:

  • Perform at least one or two annual brushing of the turf with a specialized brush; if the lawn is heavily used, it’s better to do more. For large areas, we recommend buying an electric brush, available at affordable prices. For areas smaller than 20 square meters, you can also use stiff-bristled plastic sweepers, brushing against the grain. DO NOT use metal rakes as they damage the turf.

  • Keep your synthetic lawn clear of leaves using blowers or plastic leaf rakes.

  • Any weeds in the infill sand or along the perimeter should be removed manually or by applying small amounts of weed killer to dry them out.

  • If you have pets, we recommend washing the turf with water and sanitizing it as needed with appropriate liquid disinfectants (avoid using harsh detergents or chlorine).
